When we asked the dairy farmer if we could take Emerald he said she was not suitable to be a “pet” but I was persistent. I was surprised at how incredibly wild and fearful of humans she was when we collected her. I look at her now and smile seeing her so relaxed and content. Emerald loves her new lick block of calcium, magnesium and phosphorus. A wonderful cow passionate vet came today and was sad to see the state of poor Emerald. She is now on a mixture of antibiotics for her raging fever due to mastitis. She also has a nasty skin infection that can cause very serious problems with her liver and can result in death. For those who didn’t see our previous post we rescued Emerald yesterday from a dairy farm. She was headed for the slaughterhouse. After yesterdays post
