March 25th is National Medal of Honor Day, recognizing the over 3,000 Medal of Honor recipients who represent the highest standard of service and sacrifice in the U.S. military. Since its first presentation in 1863 to Army Pvt. Jacob Parrott, the Medal of Honor has been awarded 3,535 times, most recently to Army Col. Paris D. Davis (Ret.) in March 2023.
