During the White Phase of Basic Training, Trainees are exposed to Land Navigation, where they learn how to successfully move through terrain with only a compass, map, and protractor. Throughout their time in Initial Military Training, Trainees will learn foundational skills that they build upon throughout their career within the U.S. Army. Basic Map Reading and Land Navigation training exercises for OCC Class 57 "KABINADANG". Cadets belonging to OCC Class 57-2022 received a block of instruction on Map Reading and Land Navigation. The cadets will master these skills during Field Training Exercises (FTX) where their combat leadership skills will be put to test in a realistic simulation of their future operating environment.
