When I first started trying to learn how to do freemotion machine embroidery I practiced simple movements over and over to get used to moving the fabric myself and being in control of where the needle stitches. It did feel a little alien to start with as I was so used to the machine feed-dogs moving the fabric for me but with time I gained confidence and learnt to relax with it and enjoy the wobbly lines!
