Here is a bit of history from 40 years ago. International Harvester had to warn farmers about trying to alter the gas caps on their older tractors, after courts started ruling against the company on liability cases involving the gas caps. Subsequently, the company had a major campaign to replace the caps on I.H. tractors that were many years old.
