Paithani also known as “Queen of Silks”, originates from Maharashtra’s Paithan village and its roots trace back to 200 BC during the Satavahanas' era! This weave flourished during the regime of Peshwas, Mughals and the Nizams and has been kept alive by the weavers for generations. Crafted with handwoven silk, Paithani sarees feature a rich and intricate zari pallu and borders. Distinguished by their unique weaving process. The entire process - from dying of the yarn to weaving, is done by hand.
