RIP Larry Collins Lawrence Collins (October 4, 1944 – January 5, 2024) was an American guitarist, best known for being a part of The Collins Kids duo with his sister Lorrie, being mentored by Joe Maphis, and for his fast and energetic playing. October 4, 1944 - Larry Collins is born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. With his older sister Lorrie, the Collins kids were Rockabilly pioneers. They became regular performers on Los Angeles' TV show "Town Hall Party", and on the syndicated version of the show, "Ranch Party." Larry was known for his wild guitar antics, partnering at times with his mentor, Joe Maphis. Later, as a songwriter, Larry's credits included Tanya Tucker's "Pecos Promenade" and "Delta Dawn," and David Frizzell & Shelly West's "You're
