Felling the final log section of a declining maple after the canopy was removed. This maple was in heavy decline and had already dropped large limbs, damaging the homeowner’s vehicle. After the canopy was safely removed, the remaining log sections were felled in a controlled manner. Once the hinge wood breaks, the log can bounce slightly. That small extra cut at the front of the face cut is called a bird’s mouth — it helps the log release and slide off more smoothly and predictably! #TreeRemoval
