Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome (DSPS) is a circadian rhythm sleep disorder in which a person’s internal body clock is shifted later than what society expects. People with DSPS naturally fall asleep very late (often 2–6 am or later) and struggle to wake up early, even when they are exhausted. Crucially, this is not insomnia due to anxiety or poor sleep habits.
