We are currently testing this machine to see if it’s something we want to purchase to help with litter cleanup efforts. You might have seen us out in Spokane Valley on a test run last week. The machine is towed and controlled by one person driving a tractor. It uses a rotating conveyor that contains hundreds of tines which scoops up the trash then dumps it in a hopper/bucket. The hopper can be raised to dump the litter into a container, truck or dumpster. It’s effective on grass, dirt, and paved

Greg Wilkie has been a maintenance worker for us out of the Spokane area for about three years, doing everything from fixing potholes to treating roads in the winter. Last week he was working on sweeping the roads to clear sand and other material that had built up over the winter. When he's off work he loves spending time with his wife and two children. Please make sure he can do that every night by always being alert and patient around road crews, slowing down and giving them room. | WSDOT
