Our Arcadia native fish hatchery is into Murray cod production season! The crew have been keeping an eye on 50 of these nesting boxes, set out across the site’s 10 broodfish ponds. They’re where our female broodfish cod lay their eggs before the males come along to fertilise and guard them. Once the eggs are ready they’re moved inside to our incubators to hatch under controlled conditions, before being moved back outside to plankton ponds to grow to fingerling size.
