We found this Florida Softshell Turtle hatchling at our doorstep today, literally. Softshell turtles are water turtles and they can't survive long away from the water. This little hatchling was very dry and hadn't made it to the water yet so we placed him in a shallow bowl of water and took him a couple hundred feet away to the closest fresh water.
